Miserable Day
For the last couple of days I have been battling a toothache, today was my last straw. I woke up in such pain that Tylenol and orajel isn't helping...so I made a dentist appointment for Monday morning..can't wait..it's a wisdom tooth that needs to come out and I've just been putting it off so now I have to live in pain for a couple more days. Shawn's doctor appt to have this thing removed from his finger got cancelled again...for the second time..this doctor's office is a PITA! He was not happy. Then to top things off we had our check up/ultrasound with the specialist this morning..and guess what...we got our favorite (not) ultrasound tech..she is so horrible..no pictures at all..not even one and when she scans she hurts you. I know I have a little extra fat but come on, when she's done I feel bruised. On a good note the boys are both doing great. Logan weighed in at 2lbs 12oz with a heart rate at 141 and Mason was 2lbs. 10oz with a heart rate of 141. Doctor said they are both where they should be..a little small but he's not too worried. We go back in three weeks for another check up and go from there. Probably not too many more since today's visit I am 29weeks and 4days. Logan is still head down and Mason is still breech, so so far it's not looking good for a normal birth. This "modified bed rest" thing must be working for me at least. The doctor wanted me to stay off my feet, eat, drink and don't stress..well I'm trying my best. I'm up 5lbs in 2 weeks! So overall I've gained a total of 7lbs! Now the stressing thing..that's a different story. It's just different stresses. I'm off work and don't know when I'll see my first disability check..prob not till January and Shawn was just informed that he will be off work the week after Christmas for shut down and that's unpaid...so now it's just money stresses! Well got another doctor's appointment tomorrow morning with the regular OB office so we will see what they say!

Off Work
Had a check up at the OBGYN today. Heart beats were both good and I'm measuring at 40 weeks already!! That's so funny. I still have only gained a total of 2 pounds. This sunday I will be 28 weeks along and I started to have a lot of contractions this past week while I was at work and on my feet all day. Work can get a little hectic when we have a busy doctor in. The doctor took one look at me today and could tell that I was done..lol She has officially taken me off of work till after the babies are born. She would like me to sit and rest more, eat more and drink more. She also thinks being home will ease some of the stress and may help with the contractions. We go back to the OB in 2 weeks...the day after we see the specialist again. I know it's good for the babies but now I am stressed about money and being able to pay all of our bills. I do have AFLAC but I'm not sure how well it pays and when exactly I will get my first check from them. So now I have a different kind of stress to deal with until I know for sure that we can make it. As for now Im going to try to relax and enjoy this weekend! My baby shower is this sunday and I can't wait to see all my friends and family gathered together..minus a few that can't be there (please pray for my cousin, whom is in the hospital with the H1N1)

Growing Boys
Today was our 25 week (4 day) check up with the specialist. Ultrasound went great! I was very pleased that the awesome tech was back from her maternity leave. She was wonderful...explained everything she was doing and looking at to my husband, which was very nice. Baby A which is Logan is head down, already very low in the pelvis..no wonder I feel like I have to use the bathroom all the time..lol Logan weighs 1lb 10ozs at this point and his heart rate was 142. Baby B which is Mason is still breech and curled up into a ball. He weighed 1lb 9ozs and his heart rate was 161. According to the specialist both boys are doing really well and are growing exactly where they should be for 25 weekers! Both of them were moving all around during the ultrasound which was nice to see. I feel Logan move all the time now. He is constantly moving or kicking or punching..especially when it's time to sleep. Now Mason on the other hand..I hardly feel him move about much..but I guess that's because he's all curled up in there. I still feel tired all the time, which is normal...the nausea has subsided for the most part and I'm trying to make myself take it easy and not do the stuff I'm not supposed to do.. It's hard but I do catch myself and have to take a step back and remember it's for them...It's all for them! I can't believe how much I already love these boys and I haven't even met them yet. I can't wait to hold them..see what they look like and just cuddle and smell their little heads. I did get some pictures this time so I will try to post them soon.

Boys!
Our boys...Logan Michael and Mason Patrick will make their debut in early 2010! Sorry no pictures yet to post..once again we got the crappy ultrasound tech that doesn't apparently do pictures..she's really bad at it..even if you ask her before hand for some pictures. We told her and the secretary told her that we got screwed last time with no pictures and that we really really wanted some this time...she still said she was only able to get one...shes horrible. Our next ultrasound is scheduled for November 19th and the other girl should be back from her maternity leave by then so I'm crossing my fingers that we will finally get some pictures of our boys. On another note, the boys are both doing great. Both are measuring as they should and their weights are good...all organs appear normal. That's good news for mommy and daddy. We just went shopping and decided on a theme for the nursery this past weekend. It is the tree top collection from carter's. The room is green with accents of brown. Once it is put together I will try to remember to take some pictures and post them..lol We will be going to the doctor more often now that I am at 22 weeks so I should have more stuff to update more often..lol or should I say..Ill try to! Oh and we registered for some of the things that we would like to have or will need this past weekend as well...at Babies R' Us...Info on baby shower to follow!

I know, I know
It's been forever...just haven't had much to say. Since my last post I think I've had maybe 2 doctor's appointments and so far all seems to be going well. We seen the specialist for the first time..both babies were doing good, both weighed and measured what they were supposed to. The dumb ultrasound tech didn't give us any pictures of the babies at that appointment so we don't have any to show except for the very first ones when we found out it was twins...how disappointing! Due to my Arnold-Chiari the specialist has referred me to neurologist for a consult to find out what type of anesthesia I can have for the labor and delivery. He's not sure if I can have an epidural..he thinks I may have to have general anesthesia....I don't thinks so! They better figure something out because I am not going to be put to sleep and not remember or "be there" for the birth of my babies. Especially since these are probably all we will ever have. We have our next appointment with the specialist on Oct 8th. Hopefully on that day we will find out what our little ones are! I see the neurologist this Friday..so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We are both on vacation this week so our goal is to complete the babies nursery. We have finished the new closet...new carpet and closet system and I even have it filled with stuff already..now this week Shawn and his dad are going to work on fixing the walls, priming the woodwork and painting...hopefully it will get done this week. I'm anxious..I just want it complete and believe me..if I was allowed to paint..I'd be in there and have it already done. So my job this week is to get rid of a bunch of stuff that I don't really need and make room in the rest of the house for the babies. Watching that new show on TV called Hoarders..has changed my life completely..lol I don't care what it is..if I haven't used it in the last year..it's gone! Already tossed 3 bags of trash and donated a truck full of stuff to the goodwill and friends/family. On the big question that everyone is always asking...How you feeling? Do you know how much I dislike this question now....lol I wanna say...How do you think! But I'm too nice..I'm not feeling all that bad. Still tired most of the time, still have a horrible gag reflex to smells, pills and brushing my teeth and now I get heartburn most everyday. My stomach feels like it's going to explode sometimes from all the stretching pains I get...my back hurts when I'm on my feet too long and my feet and ankles already swell a little when I'm on them too long...sooooo How do you think I feel? LOL Just kidding...it's great :)

TWINS!!
Yhea I don't believe it either. We just found out yesterday with our first ultrasound that their were two little ones in there...not just one. WOW what a shock. First feeling that came over me was scared. I'm scared to death and don't know what to do with two. It's starting to sink in. I know that it will take time, but thank God that we have a wonderful support system with both of our families and great friends. My cousin whom also has twins and my best friend that is having twins in September both assure me that the feelings i am having are normal. They both went through the same shock and awl. I just can't believe it yet.
The ultrasound went very well besides finding two..lol Their heartbeats were both good at 154 and 156. Baby B we could actually see the spine which was kindof neat. Now with twins I am considered high-risk and will be seeing a maternal fetal specialist. So we will get lots of ultrasounds and lots of pictures of the babies. I do have their first pics and I will try to post them later.
Yesterday I also had to do the 1 hour Glucola test (sugar test). Normally you do not have that test till you are about 24 weeks but because both of my grandfathers are diabetics they wanted to check me early. Well I got a call early this morning that I failed it and had to go in today for the long 3 hour test. Let me tell you...that stuff is gross! Today's was double the sugar and 4 blood work pokes later..when I got home I checked my sugar because I wasn't feeling well and it was only 54...no wonder I was dizzy and shaky. I don't want to ever feel that way again. So we will see what the results are probably next week and we have another appt at the dr's in 2 weeks. I'll try to update as much as I can!

July 16th
That's the day of our very first ultrasound! That day will also be my first pre-natal check up (technically). They have drawn blood from me about every 3 days to check my HCG levels and they have gone from 151 to 460 to 1783 so keep your fingers crossed that God has only given us what we can handle...lol!

Great News!
If you read my last post you would have noticed that I hinted of a miracle that my great-aunt had given me this past friday....
Friday June 19, 2009 My husband and I found out that we are expecting our first child! We are ecstatic and overjoyed. However we still do not believe it! This has been a big hurdle for us to get over...We had been trying for awhile now with no results...after many painful and uncomfortable tests we found out that I did not ovulate, so I was put on medication to help. Low and behold the very first cycle of Clomid we got pregnant! Since we just found out friday we do not know the exact dates and everything but with my calculations I should be due around Feb. 27th, 2010. I really don't think that it will hit us until we have our first ultrasound or until I feel it move. Luckily I get to have an ultrasound here pretty soon because with that medication there is always a chance of multiples so they want to check to see what's going on in there...lol...Not sure I could handle more than one but at this point I will take whatever God has given us! I'll update more when we know more...I promise!

Sorry!
I know it's been awhile. Haven't had much to talk about! After all the drama was said and done we finally found a decent estimate to do our basement waterproofing so, last weekend it got done! I am so glad to finally have a dry basement! Things are moving along nicely now. Once the cement is totally dry we can begin to put stuff back where it belongs and move more stuff down there and out of my hair up in the main house. I'm hoping to be able to finish the spare bedroom now and move our extra freezer down to the basement. One side of the basement we plan on carpeting and kindof finishing off to make it a room for Shawn. The other side is the washer and dryer and a small shower/bath area. I'm excited...there is just so much to do. O and we also got glass block Windows installed. That made a big difference down there as well. Who knows we may turn this house into something liveable afterall.
My best friend (Melissa) just had her big ultrasound today...and we already knew that it was twins but now I know that both my god-children are BOYS! I'm so happy for her. As long as they are healthy it really didn't matter. Her and her husband tried for a very long time and are finally getting the family that they have wanted! Miracles do happen!
My work has been really slow these past couple of months with many of the doctors taking off here and there. Melissa called me and said that her office was looking for someone PRN, so I jumped on it. I have been wanted to work there for those physicians for awhile now but there was never an opening when I was able. Now I got my foot in the door and I'm happy with that. So we'll see!
I have been getting more and more into my photography hobby. Within the past couple of months I've bought a new computer, printer and new photo editing software. Much improvement!! Now all I need is a new camera! I have a friend that her daughter is getting married and she asked me to take the pictures so I have some practicing to do. I'll post some pics of some things that I have messed with.
Also just been running around and helping my brother and future sister-in-law get stuff together and ready for their August 1st wedding!

And the saga continues....
Well.....After much consideration on how we were going to pay for all of this we decided to cancel the contract for the waterproofing at this time. We are still planning on getting it done, just not now that we have another bill to take care of. This past Tuesday they came and started digging the front yard to fix the sewer line. Thankfully I was at work in the morning. When I came home around 12:30 I could see the piles of dirt from down the street along with the huge backhoe in my front yard. O what a sight. I almost wanted to vomit. Anyways on a good note, they got it done in one day..they were done by 5:30pm and...get this...it was only $1800 instead of $4000. What...yea actually we caught a little break there for a second. So, that headache is done for now. They will be out in the spring to grate the front yard and make it all smooth and pretty again. As of Tuesday we still did not have our check from the city for the sewer back up and we found out why...when they were digging out front the city guys kept stopping by and asking them a bunch of questions about the repair and asking if they thought that it was somehow our fault...can you believe it...well I guess I can. The sewer company fixing it said that in no way was it our fault, it just wasn't possible for our problem to have caused it. So guess what....about an hour later we got a call that our check was ready to be picked up. We got it today and cashed it right away...damn city. And remember me telling you about the waterproofing thing...well we got a call today that hmmm cancelling the contract did not totally cancel it. I don't get it but apparently we agreed to be on call so that they could do it within 24hours notice if they got a cancellation so they could fit us in. And because of that they already went out and bought stuff and spent a lot of money and I guess cancelling the contract does not let us out of the obligation of owing them money for that. I definitely do not see it. I have read that contract over and over, front and back and I think that they are trying to screw us....again. I wish I had a friend that was a lawyer because I sure could give him a bunch of business right now. I'm so tired of this crap happening.

WHAT A MESS!!!
Ok so I know that everyone doesn't want to see it, but here is a decent photo of what our basement looked like. Even shows my quilt and Christmas blanket floating! It took us four days to completely clean and disinfect the basement. We only lost about $800 worth of stuff from down there, so I think we were lucky in that sense. The city did admit fault and are cutting us a check for the $800 this week. Since the basement is all cleaned up and everything is clutter free we decided to go ahead and get an estimate to see how much it would cost to get it waterproofed. We expected it to be around five grand. Boy were we wrong! Another wonderful detail of our beautiful house....we don't have a cement basement. Apparently Ohio is a big clay state as a natural resource. So our basement is built out of clay blocks that if remain wet over time turn back into sand and dissolve and disintegrate. Of course they do...that's just our luck right now. Our basement is so bad that apparently we are taking care of this at the right time because if we wait any longer they would have to come and jack the house up and remove the old walls and build new ones. That would cost around $30,000. So to have done what our home needs it will cost us $14,000! No kidding! Isn't that wonderful! And to top off this great week..we had a warm up into the 60's outside...the ground warmed up and thawed...made our sink hole in the front yard bigger....we lost the tree....and...and (get this) the sewer pipe in the front yard that is our responsibility collapsed! That's another $4,000 to fix this week! I am completely broke! Mind, body, spirit and checkbook!!!

Seriously!!!!!!
Can things get any worse?!? My luck has got to change...soon! After enjoying our day off on friday and getting some work done on the spare bedroom closet that we are expanding. Saturday morning Shawn's dad came over and helped up pretty much finish it. It looks great! I am so happy that it's done. We so needed it. Anyways we were both in a pretty good mood....then his dad left and we were cleaning up the mess.....Shawn was on his way to the basement to put his tools away and all of a sudden all i hear is some very bad words being yelled out! I ran downstairs to the basement steps only to see 6-8 inches or sewer water in my basement! Yes sewer water! Literally POOP floating in my basement! And to top it off saturday is my laundry day...all my clothes were in laundry baskets on the floor by the washer and dryer and I had just stripped the beds to wash all the linens. Needless to say we lost some comforters and blankets and a lot of clothes. Come to find out that the main sewer on our street was majorly clogged and of course our house was the first one next to where it turns off so we were the lucky ones. The city has admitted blame..however they want us to turn it in to our homeowners insurance and they are just giving us the run around. I am having so much fun! Can't you tell! I'm about ready to get a lawyer because I think we deserve to be compensated by the city. Our insurance only covers $1000. That's it! What if our hot water tank, furnace, washer or dryer breaks because of this. Too bad we're pretty much screwed in that case. We spent three days and three hundred dollars on materials to clean up and sanitize the basement. Ive been sick because of the bleach fumes that have engulfed my home and yesterday I went to the laundry mat to finish all our clothing. At this point I don't know what to do......

When it rains, it pours!
Why does everything seem to go wrong all at once? Well, as i've already said we were remodeling our upstairs spare room...well we've had to kindof put that on hold and leave it a mess. My brakes went out on my trailblazer and we have to get it fixed this weekend. That's another $300. And the best news yet...with this massive blizzard/ice storm we got this past week, our dining room started leaking. Not just leaking but literally pouring in water above the window. About a gallon a hour. Not fun stuff to wake up to at 1 in the morning. I think its contagious..thanks cousin Michelle...lol Maybe house problems just run in the family. So at 7am Shawn was outside chipping away at all the ice and snow on our roof to try to stop the insanity. Who knows when we will get back to fixing the bedroom...something else will probably go wrong. I hope not..well see...I'll keep you posted!

Still Here!
Sorry I've been MIA lately. Not much going on around here. It's winter and i'm kinda hibernating. I hate winter! I do have some good new though...my best friend Melissa and her husband have been trying to have a baby for some time now and just recently found out that they were definitely pregnant! Not only are they pregnant but she's having twins!!! I'm so excited for her! We are doing some home remodeling..o what fun! We are expanding the closet in the spare bedroom. It was difficult to use. You basically could only get to half of it by the way it was enclosed by the wall..anyway we knocked down the wall and are putting up a new one and making it a walk in closet. Around here little projects end up becoming big ones...so who knows how many months this will take..lol
